Since starting the Collegiate School Master Plan 30 years ago, Helpern Architects has completely reconfigured the school’s Upper West Side campus and added 10,000 square feet. Two plan updates later, the most visible project is the six-story infill building that links two of Collegiate’s main buildings and gives the school more efficient circulation and more space, the subject of an article in School Planning & Administration. A double-height “town center” for the Middle School has changed the way students congregate and are taught. Helpern also completed a dozen other projects for athletics, the arts, science, food service, theater arts, and administration.
